In 2018, my friend and client Nick, owner of Live Large; put his money (literally) where his mouth was and went after his dream of opening a pizza shop in his hometown. In need of a name, branding, and shop art; he brought me aboard as a partner to help him round out his new venture.
On National Pizza Day, February 9 2019, covered in paint and filled with pizza from months of product testing; we opened the doors to Ohio Pie Co. giving birth to Ohio Style Pizza. We knew entering the world of pizza with a new style of pie would bring doubters and critics, but we welcomed them and pizza fiends alike with open arms. Nearly one year later and 70,000+ pizzas sold, we’d like to think we’ve converted more than a few people to what we’re doing.
The bands and people shouted out on the walls echo what Ohio Pie Co. is: 100% DIY and fueled by love. Taking care of your friends, sharing some jokes, and the best possible pizza.
Who knows where it goes from here but I can guarantee you it will taste amazing and be available in vegan flavors.
